Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus in DeSoto, TX is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the building, equipment, and utilities in good working order in compliance with policies and regulations. You will perform routine maintenance, minor electrical/plumbing/carpentry tasks, and assist with HVAC systems while maintaining a safe, clean environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in healthcare or similar setting.
• HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical licensure and EPA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance including painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC system maintenance.
• Clean interior and exterior areas, including machinery and equipment.
• Complete administrative duties and report maintenance statuses to supervisor.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations; follow safety policies.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and coordinate with vendors.
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work with contracted vendors as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• 2+ years of experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.

• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.

• May be required to work outside of normal work hours.

• HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical licensure a plus. HVAC, Plumbing and EPA certifications a plus.

Essential Functions:

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.

• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building

• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor.

• Comply with all safety and health regulations.

• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.

• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.

• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.

• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.

• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.

• Any other duties assigned.
