Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus in DeSoto, TX is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to keep the facility’s building, equipment, and systems in top condition. This role supports ongoing operations while upholding safety policies and regulations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of maintenance experience, with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry knowledge as a plus. The job is full-time and onsite at our DeSoto location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience.
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to read safety rules and manuals.
• Teamwork-oriented and able to lift/move heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance: painting, minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance.
• Clean interior and exterior of the building, and machinery/equipment.
• Complete administrative duties and report maintenance status to supervisor.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and report needs to supervisor.
• Respond to emergency maintenance and repairs calls.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Work with contracted vendors and coordinate as needed.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
• May be required to work outside of normal work hours.
• HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical licensure a plus. HVAC, Plumbing and EPA certifications a plus.

Essential Functions:

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.
• Any other duties assigned.
