Job summary

The Villages of Lakewest in Dallas, TX is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to ensure building, equipment, and utilities are maintained according to policies and regulations.

You will perform routine maintenance, assist with repairs, and support safety and health compliance while coordinating with vendors as needed. This on-site role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and may involve after-hours work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and related systems is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• May require work outside normal hours.
• HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical licensure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC maintenance.
• Clean interior and exterior of building and machinery/equipment.
• Complete administrative duties and report maintenance statuses to supervisor.
• Comply with safety and health regulations.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
• Respond to emergency maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.
• Any other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems (including relevant equipment and tools) is a plus.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and other manuals and documents.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
• May be required to work outside of normal work hours.
• HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical licensure a plus. HVAC, Plumbing and EPA certifications a plus.

Essential Functions:

• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.
• Clean interior of the building, as well as machinery and equipment, and exterior of the building
• Complete administrative duties, such as filling out forms and reporting maintenance statuses to supervisor.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Keep inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies and equipment, and report needs to supervisor.
• Respond to emergency calls for maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds.
• Work with and maintain relationships with contracted vendors.
• Any other duties assigned.
