Maintenance Assistant Job Summary:
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the common areas of the property according to policy and as directed by the Executive Director or Director of Maintenance, ensuring the property is clean, safe, and comfortable.
- Assist the Director of Maintenance with repairs of electrical, mechanical, and other equipment.
- Keep work areas free from hazards such as protruding objects, unnecessary equipment, and supplies.
- Immediately report hazardous conditions or equipment to the Director of Maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, GED.
- Two years of maintenance experience.
- Ability to self-teach proper use of power tools, test equipment, gardening tools, and augers (portable/hand/electrical).
- Knowledge of and adherence to Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules.
- Ability to perform physical tasks safely, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, bending, squatting, twisting, reaching, and demonstrating hand dexterity, sensory vision, hearing, and communication skills.
