Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant/Day Porter in Columbus to perform housekeeping, occupancy and custodial duties, ensuring spaces remain clean, functional, and welcoming.

The role is part of the Workplace Experience function, delivering world-class customer service to clients and visitors of a designated building.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and shared areas.
• Perform light repairs and upkeep across the facility, including painting walls and floors in mechanical rooms.
• Touch-up painting in office spaces.
• Refinishing and painting outdoor picnic tables and site furnishings.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify minor repair needs.
• Assist with general cleaning and tidying of common areas.
• Support the Facilities team with seasonal projects and special tasks.
• Communicate any issues or supply needs to the Chief Engineer.
• Perform physical tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving materials.
• Organize inventory of storage rooms to ensure contents are stocked.
• Respond to employee desk and office lockouts and manages replacement keys.
• Follow government and company regulations related to building operations and work safety.
• Complete general labor work as assigned, including repairs and ad hoc requests.
• Assist internal employees with office space relocation by delivering packing supplies.
• Help maintenance staff, engineers, and vendors with special projects; review work upon completion.
• Answer inquiries from clients, coworkers, and supervisor.

As a CBRE Maintenance Assistant/Day Porter, you will perform basic maintenance tasks. This includes housekeeping, occupancy, and custodial duties.We’re looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant/Day Porter to support everyday facilities tasks and light maintenance at our commercial properties in Columbus. This role helps keep our spaces clean, functional, and welcoming—inside and out.

• Answer common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
• Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
