Job summary

Stellar Health Group in Central Square, MA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep buildings, grounds, and equipment safe and functional. You will inspect facilities, assist with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tasks, and support event setup.

This role involves routine maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, landscape duties, adherence to safety rules, inventory management, and reporting hazards to supervisors. Full-time benefits available.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities operations.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Capable of light cleaning and landscape duties.
• Willingness to work additional hours for events.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, grounds and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing leaks).
• Assist with event setup and breakdown (moving and arranging furniture).
• Conduct minor building, HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Assist with daily cleaning of facilities (sweeping, mopping, trash).
• Maintain landscape duties (mowing, trimming, snow removal).
• Follow health and safety regulations and practices.
• Maintain inventory of repair supplies.
• Communicate with supervisors about hazards or needed supplies.

Job description

The main duties and responsibilities of a Maintenance Assistant include:

• Assist in the inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions
• Troubleshoot and repair issues with HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, etc
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including moving and arranging furniture
• Conduct minor building, HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs
• Assist with the daily cleaning of the facilities, including sweeping, mopping and trash removal
• Help with landscape maintenance, including mowing grass, trimming hedges and shoveling snow
• Follow all health and safety regulations and practices on every job
• Maintain inventory of repair supplies and materials
• Communicate with supervisors about unsafe conditions, damaged equipment or supplies needed
