Job summary

Apploi is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to uphold a clean and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, engage in preventive maintenance, and collaborate with outside contractors for larger projects.

The role emphasizes preventative upkeep, safety procedures, and timely service to facilities, with responsibilities that include inspections, repairs, and coordinating bids.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical degree from a two-year college or vocational school or three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical and HVAC mechanical equipment and systems.
• Two years of supervisory experience is required.
• HVAC certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facility and equipment to determine service needs and perform repairs within normal scope.
• Perform maintenance, repair, or renovation and obtain bids from outside contractors when needed.
• Follow preventative maintenance schedule to control costs and maintain records.
• Maintain preventative maintenance records and documentation.
• Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, and equipment as needed.
• Obtain, review and evaluate bids from outside contractors as necessary.
• Prepare evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Perform maintenance functions inside and outside the facility.
