Job summary

Jackson’s Chips in Muskego, WI is hiring a Maintenance Apprentice for 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:30pm) to support the maintenance team in a food manufacturing setting. This entry-level role emphasizes hands-on training, equipment reliability, and safe, efficient operations.

Under experienced technicians, you will perform basic preventive maintenance, assist with setups and changeovers, learn to use the CMMS, and help keep tools and work areas organized while following GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification willingness is required.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet.
• Hands-on mechanical or maintenance experience (internship, part-time, or school-based) preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school coursework or enrollment in maintenance/mechanical/industrial program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance technicians with routine maintenance and repair of production and facility equipment.
• Support preventative maintenance activities including inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and basic adjustments.
• Learn to use Fix CMMS to review work orders and document completed tasks.
• Assist with equipment setups, changeovers, and production support activities.
• Respond to maintenance requests with urgency and escalate issues to senior technicians.
• Help maintain tools, parts, and maintenance work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Observe and learn troubleshooting techniques for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist with installation of parts and equipment under supervision.
• Follow all safety, food safety, and quality standards including GMP requirements.
• Report any safety, equipment, or food safety concerns to a supervisor immediately.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to build technical skills.
