Job summary

Lone Rock Retreat in Bailey, Colorado seeks a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all aspects of property upkeep for a 2,400-acre retreat, including cabins, a wellness facility, a lodge, a learning center, and the grounds. You will lead a small team, coordinate preventative maintenance, and ensure safety and guest satisfaction.

This role requires strong leadership and practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs, plus the ability to work with vendors

THE ROLE

Oversee all aspects of maintenance, upkeep, and safety for a 2,400-acre retreat, including cabins, a wellness facility with hot tubs, a lodge, a learning center, and the grounds of the facility. This role involves managing a team to ensure upkeep of the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the upkeep, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the entire Lone Rock facility, including the physical building structure and all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment, in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in the creation and continual optimization of safety, energy, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Conduct regular campus-wide inspections to ensure preventative maintenance standards are being me
  • Manage the maintenance and sanitation of all maintenance areas to ensure a safe work environment, compliance with applicable regulations, and protection of the physical asset
  • Provide room touch-up, testing, repairs, and fine-tuning of guest room appliances, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Perform general repairs and assigned maintenance duties in a satisfactory and timely manner, meeting service quality standards that affect guest satisfaction
  • Respond to guest and departmental questions, complaints, or problems in a timely, professional manner
  • Facilitate basic maintenance of property vehicles, including inspecting tires, filling batteries with water, and completing preventive maintenance as needed
  • Manage onsite vendors performing maintenance work, checking in on progress as needed
  • Maintain ponds, spas, and wellness building equipment and services
  • Participate in re-keying of the facility as needed
  • Respond to equipment alarms, troubleshoot, and repair as neededAssist with snow plowing of property entries, bridges, roads, and trails as needed
  • Assist with special projects, such as installations or event setups
  • Observe the property from a safety, security, and risk perspective at all times; report unusual behavior and recommend improvements
  • Monitor grounds for safety hazards, damage, or areas needing attention, and report findings to supervisors
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct supervision of maintenance and grounds attendants.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair practices.
  • Experience maintaining wellness facilities such as hot tubs or pools is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software or tools is a plus.
  • Physical ability to perform hands-on maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly, listen attentively, and collaborate effectively with guests, staff, and leadership, using tact and professionalism.
  • A positive, solutions-oriented attitude with a collaborative and team-driven leadership style.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, early mornings, and holidays as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work at high elevations and heights, including climbing ladders, working on roofs or elevated equipment, and walking as a regular activity
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and maintain well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours, maneuvering between simultaneous tasks
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, and use hand tools and equipment with dexterity
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
  • May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and cleaning or pool/spa chemicals
