Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, reliability, and facility operations in a two-shift manufacturing environment. You will drive uptime, champion safety, and manage capital projects while coaching a skilled team of supervisors and technicians.

Key responsibilities include directing maintenance across two shifts, ensuring preventive and predictive programs, and providing guidance on PLCs, HMIs, and 480V electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • 5+ years leading maintenance teams across multiple shifts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Technical knowledge of PLCs, automated controls, and electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Proven record managing capital projects, budgets, and CMMS-driven ops.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Facilities Manager to lead all maintenance, reliability, and facility operations in our fast-paced, two-shift manufacturing environment. In this role, you will drive maximum equipment uptime, champion a culture of safety, and manage capital improvement projects while coaching a skilled, cross-functional team of supervisors and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Development: Direct, coach, and schedule maintenance personnel across two shifts, building a skilled, cross-trained organization through structured training and clear accountability.
  • Maintenance Operations: Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime using our CMMS.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on automated manufacturing systems, PLCs, HMIs, electrical systems up to 480V, and mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Facilities Management: Manage building infrastructure, HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and life-safety systems to ensure clean, safe, and fully compliant facilities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs, and ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • Capital Projects & Budgets: Develop and manage annual maintenance budgets, oversee spare parts inventory, and lead capital expenditure projects alongside outside contractors and vendors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives using TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance leadership experience managing supervisors and technicians in a multi-shift operation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field (equivalent trade certifications and significant leadership experience will be considered).
  • Technical knowledge of PLCs, automated controls, industrial electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record managing capital projects, maintenance budgets, and CMMS-driven operations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards including OSHA, EPA, and NFPA.

salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Coach and schedule cross-shift personnel, establish performance standards, enforce LOTO safety protocols, and build a skilled, cross-trained department.
  • Facilities & Compliance: Oversee HVAC, plumbing, building structures, fire systems, and grounds to ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local codes.
  • Budget & Inventory: Manage annual operational budgets, spare parts inventories, and procurement while driving cost-reduction strategies.
  • Capital Projects & Vendors: Plan and execute facility cap-ex projects, manage contractor activities, and oversee equipment installations on time and within budget.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean, TPM, 5S, and root cause analysis initiatives using CMMS data to minimize downtime and enhance plant efficiency.
