Job summary

Georgia Ports Authority seeks an Assistant Manager-Maintenance Administration to support the Maintenance Department with parts inventory, work orders, and cost reporting at Garden City Terminal. You will coordinate with IT, Finance, and Purchasing to resolve issues and generate reports.

Responsibilities include supervising storeroom activities, maintaining inventory levels, processing requisitions and invoices, and ensuring accurate documentation for audits.

Qualifications

• Extensive computer experience with databases and inventory programs, SAP or other MRP software, and Microsoft Office and have an aptitude for computer‑programming desired.
• Must possess the ability to supervise personnel.
• Must be able to communicate well both verbally and written.
• Excellent oral, written, and listening skills required.
• Ability to deal effectively and professionally with GPA staff at all levels as well as customers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist manager with supervising daily storeroom activities.
• Oversee inventory operations at Garden City Terminal, Ocean Terminal, and Appalachian Regional Terminal.
• Maintain/monitor minimum/maximum inventory levels and daily inventory records.
• Monitor all requisitions for storeroom supplies and stock items.
• Supervise storeroom/maintenance office procedures including reports, PO files, on-order files, issues and receipts.
• Audit inventory counts and ensure accountability for spare parts on-hand.
• Issue DPOs for minor items and process invoices to close POs.
• Establish and maintain inventory catalog and numbering system.
• Maintain recordkeeping for GPA property sent out for repair.
• Assist maintenance IT with PC operating systems and SAP configuration issues.
• Prepare summary reports for Maintenance Departments (weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual).
• Assist with timekeeping, attendance records, and personnel files.
