Job summary

Harbor Steel is seeking a Maintenance Associate to repair, maintain, and install machinery and equipment at our Kentucky operations. You will keep repair logs, perform preventative maintenance, and assess machines to schedule downtime.

Travel to other branches may be required to ensure safe, reliable operation. Responsibilities include training operators in lock-out/tag-out, maintaining grounds, and responding to repair requests.

We are currently looking for

MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE

Maintenance repairs and maintains machinery and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment
• Install new machinery and equipment
• Maintain repair logs and preventative maintenance records
• Assess machines regularly to identify damage and schedule needed repairs
• Train machine operators in correct lock-out/tag-out and equipment safety procedures
• Travel when needed to other branches, ensuring safe and proper running of equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per the system-generated schedule
• Attend off-site training on new equipment as needed
• Maintain property and grounds
• Review and respond to operator repair requests

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and safe equipment operating practices
• Possess basic electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to keep records
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to operate hand and power tools
• Ability to use and read precision measuring instruments and electrical meters
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work high above ground if necessary
• Ability to operate an automobile and the possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to respond to calls after hours and travel
• High school diploma and/or equivalent experience

REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

• Safety glasses
• Gloves when handling steel
• Hard Hat
• Electrical safety PPE
• Fall protection equipment

OTHER RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work shifts and overtime as necessary
• Ability to pass drug test
