Job summary

Precision Castparts in Huntington, WV is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and other maintenance duties across the facility. You will read blueprints, install and repair equipment, weld and braze as required, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires lifting up to 35 lbs, willingness to work nights and overtime, and strong teamwork. You will document maintenance tasks and support operators, with opportunities to progress through on-the-job training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to wear all PPE as required.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position.
• Must work any shifts, including nights, holidays and overtime.
• Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
• Must bend, twist and stretch arms; stand for long periods.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and written work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follows all facility safety programs/policies.
• Rotates between various areas within facility.
• Receives written and/or verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, diagrams and sketches.
• Installs, repairs, dismantles and/or removes electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and production equipment and service lines.
• Fabricates and installs metal stock to form pieces of specified size and shape.
• Welds, brazes, and/or solders metal stock, pipe, and wire as required.
• Performs or directs preventive maintenance duties.
• Uses micrometers, gauges, test equipment, etc.
• Unstops sewers and drains and cleans equipment parts as necessary.
• Operates floor-controlled crane, industrial truck or other motorized equipment.
• Lubricates plant equipment as required.
• Directs and performs general housekeeping duties in work area.
• Provides assistance to departmental operators in various auxiliary tasks.
• Follows directives to identify supplies/tools needed and completes tasks timely.
• Completes all applicable documentation related to job assignment.
• Communicate quality and safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Follows all facility safety programs/polices.
• Rotate between various areas within facility.
• Receives written and/or verbal instructions from supervisor.

Materials processed or used: Metal shapes, pipe and tubing, welding electrodes, solder, lubricants, oxygen and acetylene, bolts, nuts, filters, gaskets, packing, valves, couplings, flanges, etc., lumber, etc.

Directs Work of: Trainee and other hourly maintenance personnel as required.
