Job summary

Wilhoit Properties, Inc. is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to keep our apartment communities in top condition. You will handle maintenance tasks, complete make-ready work, and perform routine inspections to ensure safety and comfort for residents and visitors.

The role requires mechanical knowledge and skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. You may be on call for emergencies and will help maintain the maintenance shop and grounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills essential for working on various projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical appearance and integrity of the apartment community.
• Ensure clean and comfortable living environment for residents and visitors.
• Complete make-ready procedures such as painting, servicing appliances, plumbing, and electrical fixtures.
• Repair old and faulty parts; replace burnt-out light bulbs; check locks; and cleaning.
• Inspect grounds, buildings, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment; perform repairs with PM approval.
• Maintain organized maintenance shop and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Maintain curb appeal through lawn care and respond to after-hours emergencies as assigned.

Job description

Our Property Maintenance Technician are responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the physical appearance and integrity of the apartment community
• Ensure clean and comfortable living environment for residents and visitors
• Completes apartment make-ready procedures such as: painting; servicing appliances, plumbing, and electrical fixtures; repairing old and faulty parts; replacing burnt-out light bulbs; checking/changing locks; and cleaning.
• Makes regular inspections of grounds, buildings, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment and performing repairs as necessary with the approval of the Property Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized maintenance shop and keeping inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Maintain apartment community curb appeal by performing necessary lawncare
• Takes after-hours emergency calls, as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience in property maintenance is preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills essential for working on various projects

Requirements:

• Required to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• This position requires availability for on-call emergencies at all hours
• Ability to work with both hands for frequent grasping and manipulation
• Strong time management, planning, and organizational abilities
