Job summary

Wilhoit Properties, Inc. in Gulfport, MS, is seeking a hands-on Property Maintenance Technician to uphold the appearance and integrity of our apartment community and support a safe, comfortable living environment for residents and visitors.

You will perform make-ready tasks, inspect facilities, manage tools and inventory, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed, with on-call availability and close collaboration with the Property Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills essential for working on various projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical appearance and integrity of the apartment community.
• Ensure clean and comfortable living environment for residents and visitors.
• Completes apartment make-ready procedures such as painting; servicing appliances, plumbing, and electrical fixtures; repairing old and faulty parts; replacing burnt-out light bulbs; checking/changing locks; and cleaning.
• Makes regular inspections of grounds, buildings, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment and performing repairs as necessary with the approval of the Property Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized maintenance shop and keeping inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Maintain apartment community curb appeal by performing necessary lawncare
• Takes after-hours emergency calls, as assigned
