Job summary

Wilhoit Properties, Inc. is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to uphold the appearance and functionality of our Scott, LA apartment community. You will perform make-ready tasks, service appliances, plumbing, electrical fixtures, and complete repairs with approval from the Property Manager.

This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, the ability to respond to on-call emergencies, and solid time-management to keep facilities running smoothly for residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance is preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge is required.
• Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills are essential for working on various projects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical appearance and integrity of the apartment community.
• Ensure clean and comfortable living environment for residents and visitors.
• Complete apartment make-ready procedures: painting, servicing appliances, plumbing and electrical fixtures, repairing old parts, replacing bulbs, checking locks, and cleaning.
• Conduct regular inspections of grounds, buildings, lighting, plumbing, and major equipment and perform repairs as approved by the Property Manager.
• Maintain an organized maintenance shop and inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain curb appeal through lawn care activities.
• Tackle after-hours emergency calls as assigned.

Job description

Our Property Maintenance Technician are responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the physical appearance and integrity of the apartment community
• Ensure clean and comfortable living environment for residents and visitors
• Completes apartment make-ready procedures such as: painting; servicing appliances, plumbing, and electrical fixtures; repairing old and faulty parts; replacing burnt-out light bulbs; checking/changing locks; and cleaning.
• Makes regular inspections of grounds, buildings, lighting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, and major equipment and performing repairs as necessary with the approval of the Property Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized maintenance shop and keeping inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
• Maintain apartment community curb appeal by performing necessary lawncare
• Takes after-hours emergency calls, as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience in property maintenance is preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge
• Electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills essential for working on various projects

Requirements:

• Required to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• This position requires availability for on-call emergencies at all hours
• Ability to work with both hands for frequent grasping and manipulation
• Strong time management, planning, and organizational abilities
