Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a full-time Maintenance technician for our distribution center. You will perform diagnostics and preventative maintenance on conveyors and general warehouse equipment, respond to work orders, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

The role requires 18+ years old, a valid driver’s license, strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility to work a rotating schedule. Training and performance goals apply; on-site work with physical duties are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid driver's license and ability to meet driving record requirements for company vehicle use.

• Respond to requests through a work order ticketing system for all Maintenance Department aspects.

• Participate in activities and programs that support health, safety and sustainability objectives.
• Complete required environmental health and safety trainings.

OVERVIEW

Working as Full-time Maintenance, you will perform a wide variety of duties related to the maintenance and repair of our facilities, equipment and fixtures in production. This position will be based out of our distribution center located in Indianapolis, IN. RESPONSIBILITIES

• o Performing diagnostics and preventative maintenance on conveyors, automated equipment, hydraulic and other general warehouse equipment
• o Responding to requests through a work order ticketing system for all aspects of the Maintenance Department
• o Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• o Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• o Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• o Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• o 18 years of age or over, due to the nature of work
• o 18 years of age or older
• o Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
• o Proficient written and oral communication skills
• o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• o Knowledge of CMMS systems
• o Working knowledge or experience using an HMI system to operate automated equipment
• o Previous electrical experience
• o Previous conveyor experience
• o Possess experience in fabrication and welding
