Job description

The Maintenance employee will perform various tasks within the maintenance department including troubleshooting, repair of different types of machinery, cleaning of common areas in the building and miscellaneous janitorial duties to maintain a safe work environment, safe operation of machinery and other duties as requested by the Department Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain as noted above by abiding all OSHA regulations, company safety policies and procedures and by using common sense when working around or involved in a potentially unsafe condition. To report such conditions as soon as such condition is known to supervisors and/or the safety director.
  • Utilize your knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems to properly troubleshoot and repair equipment and facility issues.
  • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
  • Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using various testing devices.
  • Work with CNC control systems including servo drives and motors troubleshooting and input/output/communications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as laid out on check sheets.
  • Be dependable and reliable, report to work on time each day, maintain a good work record, and be consistently professional and work without close supervision.
  • Operate and maintain floor scrubber.
  • Maintain or obtain a valid forklift license.
  • Make frequent visual checks of areas in the plant and offices for potentially unsafe conditions, be proactive to avoid unsafe conditions, and report any possible unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain the recycling area.
  • Utilize knowledge of building, loading dock, truck wells, entrances, and security situations to perform tasks.
  • Perform local errands requiring a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Complete other duties as assigned at any time.
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 30 days on the job training.

Good knowledge of buildings, loading docks, truck wells, entrances, security situations.

Any other duties, educational or training as assigned and directed by supervisor/manager.
