Job summary

Richardson International Limited is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for our Carrington, ND facility. You will support preventative maintenance on mill, production, and utility systems, troubleshoot with operations, and document activities while upholding GMPs and food safety standards.

The role requires weekend/holiday availability and offers a starting pay around $35.50/hour with comprehensive benefits. Shift options include 1:30pm-10pm or 9pm-7:30am, with Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Two-year associates degree or higher in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, automation) or equivalent MOS training.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, or related role.
• Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, metal work, and fabrication.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance on process systems including mill, production, packaging, utility, and other facility equipment.
• Partner with operations to troubleshoot issues on process systems, utilizing machine manuals and schematics.
• Assist with maintaining utility operations including boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, water supply and HVAC systems.
• Document work (PM checklists, work orders, permits, etc.) and maintain GMPs, safety and food safety standards.
• Partner with company leadership to identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.

We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Carrington, ND durum milling and pasta production facility, where we produce Dakota Growers pasta.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from and accredited institution and one of the following:
• Two-year associates degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.) or equivalent Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, or related role
• Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, metal work, and fabrication
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Preferred Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility
• Experience reading blueprints and schematics
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Experience with power transmission components such as belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
• Experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills
• Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts
