AtWork Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a paper cloth/textile manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, FL. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and previous experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment, including motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a maintenance mechanic or millwright in manufacturing.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical production equipment.
  • Knowledge of motors, gears, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on textile and paper cloth production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, production machinery, conveyors, and material-handling systems.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and make timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Repair and replace motors, bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, rollers, shafts, gearboxes, couplings, and other mechanical components.
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, valves, cylinders, and related equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, damage, vibration, leaks, or other potential problems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, lubrication, adjustments, and equipment inspections.
  • Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting of motors, switches, sensors, controls, and other components as qualified.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, and setup as needed to support production.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a paper cloth/textile manufacturing facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and previous experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on textile and paper cloth production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, production machinery, conveyors, and material-handling systems.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and make timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Repair and replace motors, bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, rollers, shafts, gearboxes, couplings, and other mechanical components.
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, valves, cylinders, and related equipment.
  • Inspect machinery for wear, damage, vibration, leaks, or other potential problems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, lubrication, adjustments, and equipment inspections.
  • Assist with basic electrical troubleshooting of motors, switches, sensors, controls, and other components as qualified.
  • Perform equipment changeovers, adjustments, and setup as needed to support production.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Perform basic fabrication, cutting, grinding, drilling, and welding when required and qualified.
  • Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of production equipment.
  • Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs and preventive maintenance performed.
  • Maintain tools, replacement parts, and maintenance work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing or repairing equipment.
  • Follow all OSHA, company safety, and facility procedures.
  • Work closely with production operators and supervisors to identify recurring equipment problems.
  • Perform general facility maintenance duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance Technician, Millwright, or similar position preferred.
  • Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical production equipment.
  • Knowledge of motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, belts, chains, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Basic industrial electrical knowledge is preferred.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on production needs.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work the scheduled day shift.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and work around industrial machinery.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment

This position works in an active paper cloth/textile manufacturing facility and involves regular exposure to operating production machinery, mechanical equipment, noise, dust/fibers, and varying temperatures. Employees are required to follow all facility safety procedures, including machine guarding, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
