Job summary

Chapman Automotive Group is seeking experienced Mainline Service Technicians to join our team. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes and air conditioning, while keeping detailed service records.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive service technician experience.
• ASE and/or manufacturer certifications preferred.
• Own tools and valid driver’s license required; background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Communicate additional services and provide time estimates to Service Advisor.
• Execute work per repair order and dealership standards.
• Complete warranty repair work per manufacturer specifications.
• Document vehicle inspection findings and maintenance recommendations.

Mainline Service Technicians work closely with Service Advisors and the Parts Department, and report to the Service Manager.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Communicate additional services needed to the Service Advisor, providing an estimate of time needed to complete additional repairs.
• Execute work specified on the repair order per dealership standards.
• Complete warranty repair work in compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Thoroughly document vehicle inspection findings and maintenance recommendations.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• 2+ years of automotive service technician experience.
• ASE and/or manufacturer certifications are a huge plus!
• Demonstrates thorough workmanship coupled with strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• General computer skills.
• Must have your own tools.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass apre-employment drug screening and a background check.
