Job summary

Centraprise, Corp. in Utah is seeking a seasoned mainframe storage specialist to support mission-critical storage systems and DR activities. You will work with Hitachi VSP 5000 and IBM TS7780 hardware, DFSMS, SMP/E, and CA-1 to optimize performance and resilience.

You will provide 24/7 operational support, lead DR drills, and advise development teams on storage needs, policies, and capacity planning. On-call duties are part of the role in a high-availability environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mainframe storage hardware and software components.
• Experience implementing Disaster Recovery and performing DR drills in production.
• Ability to provide 24/7 operational support and on-call troubleshooting for storage subsystems.
• Familiarity with IBM z/OS storage subsystems and CA-1 utilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage mainframe storage replication across systems.
• Provide 24/7 operational support and perform recovery activities during incidents.
• Guide application teams on storage requirements and performance tuning.
• Participate in DR planning, testing, and DR drills to ensure resilience.
• Respond to on-call storage-related issues and coordinate with teams for resolution.

Job description

• Hands‑on experience with Hitachi VSP 5000, IBM TS7780,
• DFSMS suite, CA-1
• FDR/ABR
• SMP/E - in depth knowledge to do install work on ISV products
• Setup and Manage Mainframe DC Storage Replication
• IODF/IOCDS, HCD/HCM, Mainframe Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning
• PARMLIB and PROCLIB concatenation and maintenance
• Experience in Disaster Recovery setup and conducting DR drills.
• Provide 24/7 operational support for Mainframe storage systems and associated utilities.
• Perform Mainframe storage system recovery activities to ensure high availability and resilience.
• Provide technical guidance and advice to application development teams on need basis
• On‑Call support for any mainframe storage related issues troubleshooting
