Job summary

Smart IT Frame LLC in Plano, TX seeks a Mainframe Production Support SME to maintain critical mainframe applications, resolve batch issues, and drive performance improvements. You will analyze production incidents, restore batch processes, and produce adhoc reports for the Line of Business. The role requires strong COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve and IMS/DB2/VSAM experience.

We expect candidate to provide hands-on SME support, during office hours and on-call as needed in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 10 years of developing and supporting mainframe-based applications.
• 10 years of developing batch using JCL.
• 10 years of analyzing and developing COBOL and Easytrieve programs.
• 10 years of experience with VSAM, DB2, IMS DBDC.
• 5 years of experience with tools such as CA7, NDMFTP, File Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support critical Mainframe applications to meet business goals.
• Address batch issues and pursue process improvements.
• Analyze production issues, restore batch processes, and create reports.
• Provide release/deployment support and production triage.
• Identify root causes and perform breakfix activities in code/DB.
• Maintain documentation of issues and business processes.
• Provide after-hours and on-call production support.

Job Title: Mainframe Production Support SME

Job Description:

This job is responsible for supporting critical Mainframe applications to accomplish business goals

Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that applications are functioning as designed address batch or customer issues and find improvement opportunities

Analyze production issues restore batch abends and create adhoc data reports as requested by Line of Business

Job expectations include a strong knowledge of Mainframe batch applications programming languages such as COBOL JCL Easy trieve and commonly used Mainframe tools

Serve as hands on Subject Matter Expert and support issues resolution Priority 1, 2, 3

Assess and suggest process improvements enhancements and performance improvements

Maintain documentation of the issues and knowledge of business processes

Application Release and Deployment Support

Production TicketIssue Triage support

Identify root cause in the code perform breakfix activities in the code andor DB

Create adhoc data reports as needed by Line of Business

Provide support after office hours weekends and oncall support when business needs

Required Qualifications

10 years of developing supporting Mainframe based applications

10 Years of developing batch using Job Control Language JCL

10 Years of analyzing developing COBOL Easytrieve programs

10 Years of experience working with Flat files VSAM DB2 and IMS DBDC

5 Years of experience with tools such as CA7 NDMFTP File Manager

Desired Qualifications

Good communication skills both written and oral are required as the individual must interface with application developers support teams and management

Experience with Consumer banking or Deposits applications
