Job summary

Regions Bank is seeking a Software Engineer to oversee application development, maintenance, and reporting within its Technology department. The role requires ensuring systems run smoothly, implementing enhancements, and maintaining risk and cybersecurity practices.

The position is onsite in Hoover, Alabama with regular in-office hours and potential for rotation in a hybrid schedule. Strong COBOL/DB2, CICS, and mainframe skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Experience with COBOL/DB2 in IBM z/OS mainframe environment.
• Experience with TSO, ISPW, MQ, JSON, File Aid, Xpediter is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software.
• Installs and configures systems and software.
• Tests installed software for malfunction detection.
• Identifies and resolves business systems issues.
• Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
• Monitors and tests system performance.
• Maintains ownership of processes and ensures risk management compliance.
• May lead junior associates.
