Regions Financial Corporation is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to oversee the development, modification and maintenance of critical banking applications. The role focuses on ensuring systems run smoothly, maintaining documentation, and delivering reliable software solutions within Regions' Technology group.

The position requires strong COBOL/DB2 skills in a IBM z/OS mainframe environment, plus five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Five (5) years of experience
• Experience with COBOL/DB2 in IBM z/OS mainframe environments
• Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and tech professionals
• Ability to analyze system performance and resolve issues
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization and debugging
• Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations

Responsibilities

• Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software
• Installs and configures systems and other software
• Tests installed software for malfunction detection
• Identifies and resolves business systems issues
• Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing software
• Monitors and tests system performance
• Maintains ownership of processes and ensures risk management compliance
• May lead junior associates
• Supports on-call rotation 24x7
• Onsite work schedule with three or more in-office days
