Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a senior Mainframe Developer with payments domain expertise to design, develop, enhance, and support mission-critical payment applications in a mainly on-site Plano, TX environment. The role requires deep mainframe skills and hands-on experience with ACH, Wire, SWIFT, RTP, and ISO 20022 messaging standards.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining COBOL-based apps, performing production support, code reviews, and optimizing performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mainframe development and payments domain.
• Strong hands-on experience with ACH, Wire Transfers, SWIFT, RTP, and ISO 20022 messaging.
• Experience designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical payment applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Analyze requirements and develop scalable, robust solutions for payment processing.
• Perform enhancements, troubleshooting, and production support for payment systems.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Optimize application performance and resolve production issues.
• Develop and support payment processing flows (ACH, Wire, SWIFT, RTP, SEPA, ISO 20022).
• Collaborate with business teams to implement payment regulations and compliance.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

Mainframe Developer with Payments domain expertise to design, develop, enhance, and support mission-critical payment applications. The ideal candidate should have strong mainframe development skills and hands-on experience with payment processing systems, including ACH, Wire Transfers, SWIFT, Real-Time Payments (RTP), and ISO 20022 messaging standards.

Experience: Minimum 10 years

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and develop scalable solutions.
• Perform application enhancements, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Optimize application performance and resolve production issues.
• Develop and support payment processing applications for ACH, Wire, SWIFT, RTP, SEPA, or ISO 20022 payment flows.
• Work closely with business teams to implement payment regulations and compliance requirements.
• Support payment investigations, reconciliation, exception handling, and settlement processes.
• Participate in payment modernization and migration initiatives.
• Strong experience in: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, File Processing & Batch Scheduling
• Experience with Endevor, Changeman, ISPW, or similar source control tools.
• Knowledge of MQ Series, FTP, and API integrations.
• Experience with production support and incident management.
