Job summary
Capgemini is seeking a hands-on IBM z/OS mainframe developer in the Jersey City area and other U.S. locations. You will support COBOL, JCL, DB2 and VSAM, ensure high availability, and optimize batch and real-time processing within critical systems.
You will collaborate with modernization, data integration, and cloud teams on mainframe-to-cloud initiatives, support OBIEE and Snowflake data consumers, and participate in deployment and documentation using Confluence and SQL-based tooling.
Qualifications
- Experience with IBM z/OS mainframe applications.
- Strong COBOL/JCL/DB2/VSAM skills required.
- Experience with batch and near-real-time processing.
- Familiarity with data integration and ETL (Informatica, Python).
- Exposure to Java/Spring Boot APIs and Oracle data stores is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on development and support for mainframe apps.
- Analyze and optimize large legacy portfolios and batch processing.
- Collaborate on mainframe-to-cloud modernization initiatives.
- Support OBIEE and Snowflake data consumers.
- Document analyses and deployments using Confluence.
