Job summary

Ethereum Technologies seeks an experienced mainframe developer to maintain and enhance legacy systems using COBOL, CICS and DB2 on z/OS. You will analyze requirements, write code, and support existing products in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing development tasks across front-end, middle-tier and back-end layers, and following department standards. Strong communication and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or technical degree with 5+ years development experience.
• Experience with COBOL and CICS.
• Experience with SQL and DB2.
• Experience with JCL and job scheduling.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM is optional.

Responsibilities

• Explore and gain an understanding of the business.
• Troubleshoot problems and provide support on existing products and services.
• Work as part of a software development team in the implementation of projects.
• Perform daily tasks of analysis, programming and testing as needed.
• Assist with capturing business requirements, design, system architecture and development.
• Maintain legacy applications (minor new development) in Micro Focus Cobol, Cobol and CICS that interact with the Department's Information Systems.
• Must have most recent experience within the last year coding programs in COBOL.
• Experience with SQL utilizing DB2 accessing by programs, writing queries in QMF and creating tables is required.
• Experience with JCL and job scheduling is required.
• Perform front-end, middle-tier and back-end development.
• Excellent troubleshooting and cost-benefit analysis skills.
