Job summary

Envision Technology Solutions seeks a senior mainframe developer to lead analysis, design, and maintenance of core COBOL-based systems on the mainframe. You will participate in requirements, impact assessments, and code reviews while ensuring compliance with security and architectural standards.

The role requires hands-on proficiency with COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and batch processing. On-site work in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a long-term contract (16+ months) and extension possibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mainframe skills with COBOL, JCL, and DB2/CICS expertise.
• Hands-on experience with VSAM and batch processing on mainframe systems.
• Knowledge of AI/Gen AI tools and relevance to mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements analysis and impact assessment for enhancements, defects, modernization or regulatory changes.
• Design, develop, enhance and maintain application components on the mainframe ensuring standards compliance.
• Perform analysis, coding, unit testing and documentation for batch programs, online transactions and interfaces.

Job Description:

• Participate in requirements analysis and impact assessment for enhancements defect fixes modernization or regulatory changes
• Design develops enhance and maintain application components using standard mainframe technologies ensuring alignment with client's approved coding security and architectural standards
• Perform analysis coding unit testing and documentation for batch programs online transactions and interfaces running on the mainframe platform
• Analyze troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and defects
• Support system testing integration testing and user acceptance testing UAT by providing defect fixes data corrections and validation support
• Participate in code reviews design reviews release planning and operational readiness activities.
• AI/GenAI exp, if you have work or learning knowledge any AI tools.

Must Have Skills

• Very strong on Mainframe Enterprise Cobol, JCL.
• Handson and an expert in VSAM, DB2 and CICS.
• Client is looking for hands-on and senior resources with expertise who can set up and drive the team.
