Job summary

Chameleon Integrated Services in Washington state seeks an experienced mainframe printing operator to maintain high-speed printers, bursters, and related systems in a federal data center environment.

You will submit JCL jobs via TSO/ISPF, monitor production, and coordinate with Production Control for job distributions.

Candidates must follow shift schedules on weekdays and actively support equipment troubleshooting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mainframe data center printing experience.
• Experience with high-speed printers and bursters.
• Ability to follow console instructions and load supplies.
• Monitor printer systems and report malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-speed printers, bursters and related equipment.
• Set up and run printers per mainframe console instructions.
• Load paper, toner, developer, forms, and supplies.
• Manage and distribute completed print jobs to customers.
• Monitor equipment and coordinate resolution of printer/system issues.
• Submit, schedule, and track jobs using JCL in a TSO/ISPF environment.
• Support Production Control and report distribution activities.
• Maintain the printer-production work area and paper/forms.
• Shift coverage: Lead on each shift with two afternoon/evening options.

Candidate must have substantive hands-on experience in a mainframe data center environment with all three of the following:

Required Experience:

• High-speed laser printers
• Impact printers
• Burster equipment

Required Technical/Operational Experience:

• Operating high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and bursters.
• Setting up and operating printers in response to mainframe console instructions.
• Loading paper, toner, developer, forms, and related supplies.
• Removing and organizing completed print jobs for customer distribution.
• Monitoring equipment and reporting or coordinating resolution of printer/system malfunctions.
• Job submission, scheduling, monitoring, and tracking using JCL within TSO.
• Experience working in TSO/ISPF environments.
• Supporting Production Control and report-distribution activities.
• Handling paper/forms and maintaining the printer-production work area. Schedule: One Operator assigned with the Lead on each shift:
• Shift 1: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
• Shift 2: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, Monday–Friday
