Job summary

JLGOV LLC is seeking experienced Mainframe Computer Operators to support onsite production operations for a federal mainframe data center in Washington, DC. The role requires hands-on mainframe production processing, high-speed and impact printers, and JCL/TSO/ISPF proficiency, with full onsite shifts.

The position covers Computer Operator and Shift Lead assignments; starting December 2026. 100% onsite in Washington, DC with standard daytime and evening shifts, and a background check/drug test.

Qualifications

• Direct mainframe or enterprise data center operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed laser printers.
• Hands-on experience with impact printers.
• Experience with bursters or similar print-processing equipment.
• Working experience with JCL.
• Working experience with TSO and/or ISPF.
• Experience submitting, scheduling, monitoring, tracking, or troubleshooting production jobs.
• Experience supporting production-control or batch-processing operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot routine printer and job-processing issues.
• Ability to work onsite for the full assigned shift.
• Ability to handle paper, forms, toner, and production materials as required.
• Reliable attendance and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and bursters.
• Load paper, toner, developer, and forms.
• Submit, schedule, monitor, and track jobs using JCL within TSO/ISPF.
• Organize completed print jobs for distribution.
• Support Production Control staff.
• Escalate printer or system malfunctions to appropriate maintenance personnel.
• Maintain an orderly production area and support continuous shift operations.
• Coordinate shift activities.
• Monitor completion of scheduled work.
• Escalate unresolved operational issues.
• Support shift turnover and continuity.
• Coordinate with Government Production Control and Data Center personnel.

Position Summary

The position requires hands-on experience with mainframe production processing, high-volume printing equipment, JCL/TSO operations, job monitoring, troubleshooting, and Production Control support.

This posting covers both Computer Operator and Shift Lead assignments.

Shift Lead Duties

Shift Leads will perform the same operator duties and will also:

• Coordinate shift activities.
• Monitor completion of scheduled work.
• Escalate unresolved operational issues.
• Support shift turnover and continuity.
• Coordinate with Government Production Control and Data Center personnel.

Preferred Experience

• Federal Government data center experience.
• High-volume production printing experience.
• Prior Computer Operator, Data Center Operator, Production Control Operator, or Shift Lead experience.
• Experience working from SOPs, run books, or production schedules.

Compensation

Starting compensation is $30.48 per hour, plus applicable benefits and fringe.

Candidates selected for Shift Lead responsibilities may be considered for an additional lead premium based on qualifications and experience.

Additional Requirements

• Work is 100% onsite in Washington, DC.
• Remote or hybrid work is not available.
• No security clearance is currently identified as required
• Must complete a background check, credit check, and drug testing

General help desk, desktop support, or cybersecurity experience alone does not meet the core requirements of this position.
