Job summary

AIDA projektai, MB is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Automation Engineer to support enterprise-scale IBM Z environments in Austin. You will design, implement, and maintain automation across z/OS, focusing on reliability, availability, and efficient operations.

Work with Broadcom OPS/MVS, System State Manager, and REXX scripting to create scalable workflows, troubleshoot incidents, and contribute to DR and high-availability strategies in a distributed, global context.

Qualifications

Proven experience with IBM Z mainframe environments in enterprise settings.
Strong knowledge of z/OS and automation concepts.
Hands-on with Broadcom OPS/MVS, System State Manager, or similar platforms.
Advanced REXX scripting expertise and mainframe programming basics (COBOL, CICS, JCL).
Experience supporting production environments, DR planning, and incident response.
Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field; professional English communication.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows for mainframe environments.
Build scalable automation using Broadcom OPS/MVS and System State Manager.
Develop and optimize REXX scripts for automation, monitoring, and operations.
Configure failover and DR capabilities across multi-site environments.
Collaborate with infra and mainframe teams to translate requirements into automation designs.
Troubleshoot production incidents, batch processing, and system issues.
Follow change management and version control practices (Git).
Create and maintain runbooks, docs, and operational procedures.
Support knowledge sharing and team enablement initiatives.
