Job summary

Baptist Health Downtown Campus is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Main Operating Room Team on a PRN day schedule in Jacksonville, FL. The role supports the surgical team, maintains sterile technique, hands instruments to surgeons, and helps ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing rooms and cases, coordinating with nursing and ancillary staff, and educating patients and families about diagnoses and plans of care.

Qualifications

• Assure a sterile environment and maintain patient safety.
• Assist surgical team by handing instruments during procedures.
• Coordinate and prepare rooms and cases; participate in post-case cleanup.
• Engage with patients and families in care planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide for patient needs using nursing process.
• Supervise care by supportive personnel and coordinate with ancillary services.
• Include patients and families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Educate patients and families about their disease process and plan of care.
• Prepare and assess room/case; anticipate case needs.
• This role does not involve call, nights, or weekends.
