Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room in Glenview, IL. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 6:30am-5:00pm, with on-call rotation and no travel required.

The ideal candidate will have completing schooling as a Surgical Technologist or at least 3 years of experience, CPR certification, and CST certification is highly preferred. Join a team focused on patient safety and efficient operating room support.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures.
• Conduct all instrument, needle, sharps and sponge counts, as well as handle specimens.
• Assist in the application of dressings or casts and moving patients.
• Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned.
• Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts.
