Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room. This full-time position (40 hours/week) runs 6:45am-3:15pm with on-call rotation.

You will prepare instrumentation, assist with scrubbing, and support the surgical team in delivering safe patient care. Graduate of an approved surgical technology program with current CPR (American Heart Association) is required; prior OR experience or on-the-job training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience; certification in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and obtains required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff.
• Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures; anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients - pediatric through geriatric.
