Job summary

Melwood is seeking a Mailroom Supervisor for DARPA in Arlington, VA. The role requires an active DoD Secret Clearance and involves managing mail processing, screening, and secure handling of bulk mail for sensitive government operations.

Responsibilities include leading the Mailroom team, ensuring compliance with security policies, coordinating with USPS and military mail systems, and training staff on regulations and safety. Lifting up to 65 pounds and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of three (3) years' specialized experience in Federal, DoD, or mail handling.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Must be able to lift 65 pounds.
• DoD-related mail handling experience required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload bulk mail and manage mail movement and processing for DARPA.
• Lead and supervise the Mailroom team and prioritize tasks.
• Ensure compliance with USPS, DoD/DARPA mail and security policies.
• Train staff on mail regulations, postage, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate shipments with the Pentagon and other locations as needed.
