Job summary

State of Minnesota is seeking a Mailroom Associate to provide comprehensive mailroom services for the Department of Human Services (DHS). You will sort, deliver, and manage mail and packages and deliver customer service to internal and external customers, greeting DHS guests and assisting callers and walk-in visitors as needed.

The role requires strong customer service, clear English communication, and physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information via email, in person or phone.
• English writing, speaking and reading skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Typing/keyboard skills to accurately enter information into various formats.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 70 pounds.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort incoming Federal US Mail.
• Sort and prepare mail for USPS, Spee-Dee Delivery, UPS and FedEx.
• Assist business areas with large mailings or complex shipping needs.
• Deliver and pick up mail and other materials to DHS Central Office locations.
• Sort inter-office mail across DHS Central Office, out-state, counties and other state agencies.
• Provide back-up support to Information Desks and Reception Areas as needed.
