Mailing Machines Operator I

CA Department of Tax and Fee Administration

Salary: $3,480.00 - $4,714.00 per month

Job is open until filled.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate multi‑function mailing machines (inserters, postage meters, folding, and strapping machines) under the supervision of the Business Service Officer II.
• Process large volumes of outgoing mail accurately and efficiently, meeting strict deadlines.
• Maintain machine operation and troubleshoot minor issues, ensuring smooth workflow in a busy unit handling time‑critical and sensitive materials.

Working Conditions

• Position may be located in a high‑rise building.
• Standard office environment.
• Requires being seated and operating machinery for extended periods.
• Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and telephone.
• Must be able to move/transport boxes weighing up to fifty pounds (50 lb).

Minimum Requirements

Must meet the minimum qualifications listed in the Classification Specification.

Special Requirements

• Position requires employees to be fingerprinted and to successfully pass a background investigation.
