Job summary

The Marek Group in Louisville, KY is seeking a Mailing Inserter Operator to support the mailing area on the 3rd shift (11:30 PM–8:00 AM EST). You will operate inserters and related equipment, ensuring accurate, on-schedule production.

Experience in mailing is preferred but not required; training is available for mechanically inclined candidates with print/production background. Training may occur on a different shift initially.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and/or 1–3 years related print, bindery, finishing, mailing, machine operation, or production experience.
• Mailing/inserter experience preferred but not required.
• Willing to train candidates with mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate inserters, inkjet printers, and related mailing equipment
• Adjust guides, rollers, inserters, and machine controls for speed, alignment, and pressure
• Review job jackets and production orders to determine settings and components
• Clear jams and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Accept, verify, and sort containers of mail or parcels from USPS, couriers, and contractors
• Load and unload mail onto transport equipment and place items into bins or sacks by destination
• Tag containers and transfer sorted mail to designated areas
• Inspect machine output for defects and adjust equipment to meet standards
• Verify correct addressing, postage, and condition of mail items
• Remove defective materials and wrap packages or bundles manually

What You'll Be Doing

While working under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Mailing Inserter Operator will support the mailing area by operating inserters and related mailing equipment, helping keep jobs moving accurately and on schedule.

Mailing or inserter experience is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train someone with prior print production, bindery, finishing, or related machine operation experience who is dependable, mechanically inclined, and interested in learning mailing equipment.

Training may take place on a different shift at the start before moving to the regular 3rd shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Setup
  • Operate inserters, inkjet printers, and related mailing equipment
  • Adjust guides, rollers, inserters, and machine controls for speed, alignment, and pressure
