Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate – Finishing/Bindery (We'll Train You!) for the daytime shift in Ohio. We train you to run high-speed bindery equipment and help produce books and printed materials you can hold in your hands.

No prior bindery experience is required; we’ll teach you. You’ll work with a team to meet daily production goals, follow safety rules, and learn skilled equipment operation while growing with the company.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry is acceptable.
• High school Diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, and manuals.
• Basic math and measurement reading skills.
• Problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude.
• Reliable with strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem-we'll train you.

We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
