Job summary

Sheridan is hiring an entry-level Manufacturing Associate for finishing and bindery operations. No bindery experience? We’ll train you to run high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to daily production goals.

You’ll work on a fast-paced line, handle books and materials, and participate in a safety‑first, team-oriented environment with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades)
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Basic math skills including adding and subtracting
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules and manuals
• Mechanical inclination and comfort with basic tools
• Reliable, can work in a team to hit production goals

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you. We’re looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurementsTake pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
