Job summary

Sheridan is hiring a Manufacturing Associate - Finishing/Bindery for a daytime shift from 7am to 7pm on-site in Northeast Ohio. We will train you to operate high-speed bindery equipment and contribute to daily production goals.

You will work with a team to feed, pack, inspect, and move materials, learning new skills and advancing within a growing print manufacturing company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating machinery in manufacturing, warehousing, or trades is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand instructions/work orders.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into the machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials between workstations.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work with a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products for quality.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine
• Pack books into cartons
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation
• Perform hand operations as required
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we'll train you.We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machinery in any industry (manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Basic math skills, add subtract, and ability to use a measuring device
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
