Job summary

Sheridan, based in Ohio, is hiring for a full-time Manufacturing Associate – Finishing/Bindery. You will train on high-speed bindery equipment, work on a fast-paced production floor, and contribute to quality books and printed materials.

No bindery experience is required—training is provided. You should be reliable, able to read instructions, and comfortable using basic tools. Overtime opportunities are available as the team works toward daily goals.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills, add/subtract, and ability to use a measuring device.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Read basic job instructions and measurements.
• Take pride in doing quality work.
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

Responsibilities

• Feed books/signatures into machine.
• Pack books into cartons.
• Safely move materials/books to and from workstation.
• Perform hand operations as required.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.

What You'll Do

• Feed books/signatures into machine

What We're Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem-we'll train you.

We're looking for people who:

• Have experience operating machineryin any industry(manufacturing, warehouse, trades, etc.)
• High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders, workplace, and safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

It's a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

• On your feet for most of the shift
• Fast-paced, team-oriented production floor
• Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
