Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Publications Specialist II – Magazine Editor to lead editorial operations for the agency’s magazine. You will manage the full lifecycle from content intake through final production, coordinating between writers, reviewers, and design teams to ensure on-time, high-quality publication.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in editorial/publication management, strong copyediting skills, and deep knowledge of Section 508 and federal publishing standards. U.S.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of editorial and publication management experience.
• Proven track record overseeing production of a periodical (technical or research journal preferred).
• Expertise in project management for recurring publication cycles.
• Advanced editing, copyediting, and proofreading skills.
• Strong understanding of Section 508 and federal publishing standards.

Responsibilities
