Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel to join the US Macro Markets Legal Team in Jersey City. The role focuses on drafting, negotiating and advising on derivatives documentation and structuring FX and derivatives transactions for the front office.

You will work with a global team, receive extensive training on joining and ongoing support, and help ensure regulatory compliance for bilateral and cleared derivatives.

Qualifications

• Law degree or educational equivalent required.
• At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong business judgment and strategic thinking.
• Proven ability to independently identify issues, analyze problems and provide viable solutions.
• Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure, handle deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a high performance environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate trading documentation for bilateral and cleared derivatives activity, including related confirmations
• Serve as a trusted advisor to front office, sales/trading and product teams on structuring FX and derivatives transactions
• Advise on regulatory requirements relating to bilateral and cleared derivatives products
• Analyze netting and collateral enforceability opinions
