Job Description
At Regions, the End User Computing (EUC) Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining desktop solutions that leverage various technologies and platforms. This role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to understand business requirements, design scalable and secure architectures, and ensure a smooth deployment and operation of desktop environments.
Responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end desktop solutions by analyzing business requirements, assessing existing infrastructure, and delivering scalable, secure, and high‑performance architectures.
- Design and integrate application and desktop products, including virtual apps and desktops, to provide comprehensive solutions.
- Configure and manage virtual machines, session hosts, virtual networks, and storage to create and maintain virtual desktop environments.
- Ensure proper image management, user profile management, and application delivery mechanisms.
- Design and configure network connectivity between on‑premises infrastructure and cloud services, including firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Optimize desktop environments for performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Monitor and tune resource allocation, load balancing, and network bandwidth to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement security measures, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements, to protect desktop environments.
- Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Create redundancy mechanisms, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.
- Assist with the set‑up of monitoring tools and processes to proactively monitor desktop infrastructure.
- Identify and troubleshoot performance issues, system errors, and network connectivity problems.
- Produce design documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.
- Lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams to provide timely resolution of escalated issues.
- Write, test, validate, and install packages for software upgrades/patches.
- Provide support for incidents and problems escalated from tier 1 and 2 support teams, focusing on PC hardware, operating systems, and peripherals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and four (4) years designing and implementing desktop solutions.
- Or high school diploma/GED and eight (8) years designing and implementing desktop solutions.
- Experience in network design, including connectivity options, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
Preferences
- Related certifications in A+, Azure, Citrix, Jamf, Microsoft technologies, etc.
Skills And Competencies
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts.
- Knowledge of operating systems and security best practices.
- Knowledge of systems automation tools (PowerShell, VB scripting, or Shell scripting).
- Knowledge of typical server applications and services (SCCM, SQL, Active Directory, WSUS, GPOs, Jamf).
- Knowledge of virtual desktop services.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of performance optimization techniques, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies.
MacOS & Jamf Pro Engineering Responsibilities
- Implement and support Jamf Pro configurations, including policies, smart groups, inventory collection, and enrollment workflows.
- Assist with Zero‑Touch Provisioning for macOS using Automated Device Enrollment through Apple Business Manager.
- Apply and maintain macOS configuration baselines aligned with security standards and MDM capabilities.
- Create and maintain macOS packages, scripts, and automation for software deployment, patching, and endpoint configuration.
- Support integrations between Jamf Pro and enterprise systems such as identity providers and security platforms.
- Participate in macOS version lifecycle activities, including testing, validation, phased deployments, and user communications.
- Leverage Jamf Pro APIs and built‑in tooling to support reporting, remediation workflows, and configuration compliance.
- Develop and maintain scripts (bash, zsh, or Python) for Jamf automation and macOS compliance checks.
macOS Platform Knowledge
- Demonstrated working knowledge of macOS system behavior, including permissions, FileVault, and MDM concepts.
- Experience using Apple Business Manager capabilities such as ADE and VPP.
- Support macOS identity and authentication integrations, including certificates and SSO.
- Stay current with Apple platform updates and provide recommendations to improve reliability, security, and user experience.
Troubleshooting & Operational Support
- Serve as an escalation resource for macOS and Jamf Pro issues beyond standard support queues.
- Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and identity teams for standardized macOS endpoint management.
- Contribute to engineering documentation, including build procedures, configuration standards, and runbooks.
Preferred MacOS / Jamf Experience
- Jamf certification at the 200 or 300 level (or equivalent hands‑on experience).
- Experience supporting macOS devices in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with macOS security tooling such as Jamf Protect, EDR platforms, and OS hardening practices.
- Exposure to integrating macOS into environments with Windows‑centric tooling (Intune Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender).

Location & Work Arrangement
Position is intended to be onsite in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA, with regular work hours and three or more days in the office per week. The manager will set the work schedule, including in‑office expectations. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Compensation
Pay ranges are job specific and vary with experience, skills, and performance. The target range for the position is:
- Minimum: $77,932.25 USD
- Median: $102,860.00 USD
Incentive pay plans are not available for this role.
