Job summary

Mercor, a San Francisco–based firm connecting AI talent with leading labs, seeks contractors to contribute as Software Developers working on macOS for AI model data tasks. This remote, part-time role requires a MacBook and strong coding skills, with 10–20 hours per week.

You will narrate and develop training data, build and review code, and use VS Code, Xcode, Terminal, Git on macOS to support benchmarking and model improvement. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• MacBook or Mac with Apple M-series or Intel, macOS 15+

• Master's studies or 2–3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor's

Position: Software Developers (Must own MacBook)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–20 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Complete and narrate real software development tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models.
• Build, debug, refactor, and review code to support AI model benchmarking and improvement.
• Work independently with clearly structured responsibilities, avoiding high pressure typical in internships or full-time roles.
• Utilize everyday developer tools on macOS such as VS Code, Xcode, Terminal, Git, and package managers.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, Java, Go.
• Comfortable with developer tools on macOS such as VS Code, Xcode, Terminal, Git.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed Master's studies, or 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor's from a prestigious institution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
