Job summary

Mercor is seeking data analysts and spreadsheet specialists who can work remotely on a part-time basis (10–20 hours/week). The role focuses on performing real data analysis and building training data for AI models using Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets on a Mac.

You should have 2–3 years in a quantitative field, own a MacBook, and be comfortable with SQL, Python/R or BI tools like Tableau or Power BI. Immediate start is preferred for this flexible contractual position.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience or current enrollment in a postgraduate program in a quantitative field.
• Ownership of a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete and narrate real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models.
• Utilize advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets for pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, and financial or operational models.
• Work independently to benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.
• Provide clear explanations of your reasoning while working to enhance model outputs.
• Maintain a structured approach to responsibilities without the high pressure of internships or full-time consulting roles.

Position: Data Analysts & Spreadsheet Specialists (Must own MacBook)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–20 hours/week
