Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 year of experience assisting in a shop is preferred.
• Desire to learn machining and manufacturing skills in fabrication and assembly.
• Able to perform basic math for material calculations.
• Forklift certification ability is required or obtainable.
• Basic construction knowledge helpful.
• Ability to use material handling equipment (hand truck, pallet jack, jib crane).
• Good communication and organizational skills with others; professional interaction.
• Commitment to safety and safe working practices.
• Work primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing shop with moving parts and noise.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic machining, fabrication, and assembly tasks.
• Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions.
• Set up machines, choose fixtures and tools, and secure materials.
• Observe machine operations to detect malfunctions and adjust controls.
• Prepare parts, perform drilling, deburring, and finishing as needed.
• Use a welder to fabricate fittings and perform painting as required.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and comply with safety standards.
• Support other departments as needed.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
