Candidates should have several years of experience with CNC equipment, the ability to read drawings, and a commitment to quality, documentation, and a clean, safe workplace.

Qualifications

• 3 years of machinist experience in a machine shop.
• 3 years of experience with various metals and complex part making.
• 2 years of experience with large multi-axis CNC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal and vertical lathes, mills and other tools as assigned.
• Use metal cutting tooling.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Rig loads and operate overhead cranes.
• Read drawings and make sketches.
• Interact with co-workers in a team environment.
• Stand on your feet at least 8 hours per day.
• Assist with production planning.
• Ensure all work meets quality and documentation requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.

Job description

Andritz Hydro is seeking a self-motivated, reliable, and organized individual with upward potential to join our team as aMachinist. This position will interact with decentralized locations, service, sales and production staff and requires focused work. This is a hands-on position, both by procedure and on the floor assistance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Major responsibilities are listed but not limited to the following duties:

Machinists must have knowledge of, and be able to competently and safely:

• Operate various horizontal and vertical lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and other machine tools as assigned.
• Use metal cutting tooling.
• Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments as assigned.
• Rig loads and operate overhead cranes.
• Read drawings and make sketches.
• Interact with and clearly communicate with co-workers in a team-like atmosphere.
• Stand on your feet at least 8 hr per day.
• Assist with production planning.
• Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time.
• Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years of Machinist experience at a machine shop.
• 3 years of experience in working with various metals and complex part making.
• 2 years of experience working with large mutli-axis CNC equipment.
